ABOUT DR. KRONWITH

Stephen Kronwith, MD, Ph.D., lives in Floral Park, New York. Born in Brooklyn, he’s had an unusual career, including working as a university professor of mathematics, a programmer for IBM, and a private/university-based pediatric ophthalmologist for thirty-one years. He had wanted to write a novel for many years but couldn’t find the time until recently. He started writing his first story, Lover Boy, six months before retiring. Though complicated and slowed by being among the healthcare professionals working in the hospital and office during the hectic early months of the COVID crisis, he completed the manuscript about eight months later. Writing Lover Girl went a lot faster, with retirement and COVID restrictions allowing little else to do, as did Lover Child, his third entry in the Lover Boy saga.
His first novel in the Detective Jane Rieger-Franklin series, The Serpent's Teeth, debuted in 2023 . The next entry in the series, Full Circle is set to be published in mid-2025.

Critical Praise for Lover Boy:
“... the book is full of delightful twists and reversals;
“... as a bit of escapism, it does its job.” — Kirkus Reviews
“Kronwith has written a magnificent, comedic crime caper...
“Author Kronwith creates characters who are riotous, intelligent,
and,in their own ways, relatable and often lovable.” — BookTrib
Critical Praise for Lover Girl:
“In this second book of the Lover Boy series, Kronwith snaps
the reader to attention right off the bat in one of the most
clever—and strangely charming — assassin scenes written.”
— BestThrillers.com
“...the very entertaining caper plot folds in romance, suspense,
action, amily ties, and just deserts, often against the backdrop of
Mafia culture with its codes of honor and brutality.
A satisfying and potent Mafia tale.” –– Kirkus Reviews.
“Okay, Kronwith has done it again. There, I said it!”
“... the opening pages of Stephen Kronwith’s Lover Girl reveals a
stunning truth and triggers a series of events that make the
author’s sequel to his debut, Lover Boy, another gem.” –– BookTrib
Critical Praise for Lover Child:
“If you read Lover Boy and Lover Girl, you know the drill and won’t
be disappointed, especially if you love quirky characters who
commit outrageous acts but are totally decent and lovable.”
“Kronwith is fond of the expression, ‘Man plans, and God laughs.’
He uses it at least twice in his series. Ironically, Kronwith plans —
meticulously, with every character introduced for a purpose
that is germane to his story. And of course, we laugh
— aloud and a lot.”— BookTrib
Critical Praise for The Serpent’s Teeth:
“Kronwith, who delighted us with Lover Girl has done it again.”—
BestThrillers.com
“Stephen Kronwith is not a household name. But his writing,
his imagination and his commentary can hold a candle to many
who are. He is a delightful writer, an easy read and a most satisfying
experience to those readers looking for something neat and new.
The Serpent’s Teeth is a wonderful read, easily justifying
its place with Kronwith’s earlier fine stories.”— BookTrib
